We are an independent charity dedicated to giving disadvantaged children the literacy skills they need to succeed. We work to improve the reading, writing, speaking and listening skills and we focus our work on families, young people and children.

Working in partnership with Street Games, Story Quest encourages families living in Burslem and Tunstall to get outside together and take part in adventure story trails around their local green spaces and neighbourhoods.

Thanks to the support of Sport England, it is completely free for families to take part in our Story Quest adventures. This summer there are six trails located across Burslem and Tunstall for families to enjoy at a time of their choosing.

This is a three year project which has two main objectives:

1. Increase activity levels of families
2. Increase confidence and motivation to read

Story Quest Champions will help improve literacy and physical activity in their community. They will be keen to encourage families to read together whilst being active and exploring their local area. We are looking for a diverse range of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference.

No expertise is needed, just enthusiasm and a little time. This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in the local community while learning new skills.

Only registered members can apply for opportunities.
